The Gay community mourns the loss of Gwen Araujo. We wish to show our dearest sympathies and support to the family by hosting this vigil. In the wake of her brutal murder, we must make the media take notice by raising the awareness around discrimination against Gay, Bisexual, Lesbian & Transgender individuals. We must speak out against HATE CRIMES! We cannot continue to lose our brothers and sisters. Please join us in supporting her family during this time of dire distress.

On November 20, 2002 FTM International will host The Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance at the SF LGBT Community Center. This event will be a Memorial and speakout dedicated to the victims of anti-transgender violence leading to death. A small group of speakers will discuss the issues of anit-trans violence and prejudice, and a moment of remembrance will be observed for the sixteen seventeen victims to date.
