Though she's one of the past decade's most prominent pop figures, showing up everywhere from magazine covers and MTV to the big screen in "Dancer In the Dark," actually seeing Bjork's rare and invariably sold-out live shows has proved nearly impossible for many. This summer, however, the arty, electronic-pop artist hopes to correct that with a nine-gig U.S. tour of some of her largest venues to date, in support of a series of recent live DVDs and a five-disc box set. And while the Pier certainly won't offer an experience as intimate and acoustically impeccable as Oakland's Paramount Theatre did for her last stop in the Bay Area, this tour kick-off, which is rumored to include both new and old material, nonetheless promises the sort of big-time sensuality that only Bjork can provide.
