My mother was to be released from the hospital today after the surgery to obtain a sample of the tumor for biopsy. Unfortunately, in order to get a good sample of the growth, the Dr’s had to break her breast bone, so she was not released.

I spoke to my mommy this morning, she was groggy from the morphine, but said she was not in “TOO” much pain. She was mostly anxious to be released to go home and to finally be told exactly what type of cancer she has. Still, after the surgery, the Dr’s are not sure what type of cancer it is, they only informed my sister that it is “very aggressive”. Monday, my mother is to meet with the cancer specialist to go over treatment “options”.

In an email I received this morning from my sister, she wrote:

“I got a couple wig catalogues from the lady I work with that's undergoing treatment. Mom and I are going to go through them this weekend. She's already picked a short one that she likes”.

I appreciate all of the kind words and thoughts everyone is sending to my mom, and I ask that they please continue.
