Transgender Day of Remembrance
Candlelight March: Meet at Harvey Milk Plaza (Market and Castro) at 6:30p.m.
March will proceed on Market Street to the LGBT Community Center.
Memorial Presentation : Go to the Rainbow Room at the LGBT Community Center,
1800 Market Street, at 7:30 p.m. Speakers include Yose?io Lewis, Julia Serano, James Green, and Gwen Smith, with music by the Transcendence Gospel
Choir, Phillip Evans, and others. ASL INTERPRETERS WILL BE PROVIDED.

The Transgender Day of Remembrance was started in 1999 as a response to the growing issue of anti-transgender violence leading to death. Last year, the
Transgender Day of Remembrance was observed in 90 locations in 8 countries.
