When my girlfriend and I went to Seattle, we stayed at a Bed and Breakfast that had a HUGE RED HOT TUB. I mean, it was gigantic and I thought we would cause a water shortage filling the thing up…but we did anyway. And it was fun.
One of the reasons we went to Seattle on that particular weekend was to go see this group at this club. They rocked! I love the attitude of this woman- she is a super strong confident person (being Jon Spencer’s sister may attribute to some of her confidence). The drummer was also great, laying down steady beats by playing on snare, high-hat and bass- then adding in electronic drums.
I wish I were in that hot tub listing to Brassy right now!

After listening to the Smiths, I was pushed into remembering all the bands and music I used to rely on as a youth..another of the bands (which had a larger scale effect on me ) that I loved was Tears For Fears. I read, and studied up on this man's ideas. I actually sent in an application to go to his facility.
Not everything he says I agree with, but I do believe our trama stems from youth..and a need to release/escape some of the experiences of that time.
"memores fade but the scars still linger"...
I have been feeling VERY overwhellmed and not so happy in my life lately.
too much to do, not enough time and I can't seem to escape the thought of work in order to relax and enjoy the time I'm away...
I've been thinking of this album a lot lately, it helped me when I was going thru rough times when I was younger. I even dreamed about the album last night. It is my favorite Smiths.
I think I need to go out and buy the CD cause "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now".
