Last night while I was in Virgin Records, this guy came up to me, holding a disc in his hand pushing it in my face. I recognized this man as a homeless person I have seen on the street many times. He kept pushing the CD in my direction until I finally figured out that he wanted to know how much it cost. I looked at it, and pointed the price out to him. He gave an understanding nod, walked back to the bin, put the CD away and walked out of the store.
The oddest thing of all is the CD he kept shoving in my face…

Tommy,- are you trying to make contact??!!!!

One of my first "real life" inspirations for playing drums was this person. My sister dated him for a while and has pictures of his first band playing during "high school" age.
I had met him a couple times, saw him play, thought he was cute as shit, and a great drummer.
I was soon to discover just how great he really was.
I skipped class one day to watch our high school band play outside...Tom being the drummer...the band played a lot of jazz numbers and during one segment all instruments stopped..except Tom. He played, but not on the heads of the drums. He went around the rims of each drum making a beautiful rhythmic sound..he actually stood up..went AROUND the front of his drums playing on the rims!! I was Amazed..and in love with his abilities! I have NEVER seen anyone do this since!
I am lucky these days that he and I correspond over email about his musical projects (he has his own band and does music for Dwasons Creek and BUFFY) and about ways I can improve my sound.

Sometimes I'm a very lucky girl indeed...
now, If only Tommy Lee would email me back...

These CD’s are helping me get thru

ARIES
(Mar 21 - Apr 20)
Do you have all the time in the world? Of course not. That’s precisely why you need to take it easy. If you knew you were going to live forever, you could afford to get stressed out. You could happily waste weeks racing round in a hopeless haze of hurry and worry. You could aim to accomplish as much as possible on the grounds that, if nothing else, this would keep you amused. But life is short and time is precious. And nothing is ever more precious in life, than the ability to relax and appreciate the magic of it all. It’s quality, not quantity that matters now.

yeah...right....I think I need to change jobs....

I have a fear of cars. More so, a fear of being in car accidents. This fear stems from being in 5th grade and my mother breaking her back in a car accident. My mother was not even driving the car she was in; she sat in the backseat of the car as it was hit by a drunk driver. The force of the collision caused the car my mother was in to spin and hit a tree, thereby smashing my mother in the backseat of the vehicle. I have heard they had to “saw” her out of the mangled mess. My mother was the only one hurt in this accident, and was in the hospital in Ohio (while my sister and I were in Virginia being taken care of by my mother’s boyfriend) for 8 months, staying in the living room (in a hospital bed that was rented) at her sister’s house. My mother had to have a cast put on her torso (with one hole cut out around the stomach area) for months. I can recall her attempting to reach inside the “hole” even further and further each time in order to reach that annoying itch. I can recall when she fist had the cast removed, and how she had to learn to walk all over again. I also recall walking with her (leg brace on, cane in hand) in public “malls”- people staring at her- me giving them evil “do you think my mother chose this” looks back. My mother no longer uses her cane to assist her in walking although she does have a very pronounced limp.

The thing I recall the most is that as bad as it was for her, I don’t remember her overly complaining or being depressed about her situation.

I am proud of the strength of my mom.
