I just met with a woman from Gourmet Gatherings who would like to possibly hold monthly cooking parties here at The Center.
I asked her what days her events generally take place and she told me Sundays. I regrettably informed her that at this time, the building is not open on Sundays.
She then told me that she was open to shift the day of her event, she said “well, you see what we’ve done in the past is have these events scheduled on Sundays because we were dealing with Heterosexuals, and that day seems to work best for them…if we can’t have our events on Sundays, what day do you think would work best for gay men?”

Ummm…
Yeah.
Bite me.

Today, a day of remembrance for all Transgender folk who have lost their lives to others simply for being who they are...
Last year's rally was intense, but I feel tonights will be even more so as I feel so many more have become aware of these terrible crimes against Transgendered people.

Tomorrow, the beginning of a 3-day "vacation".

I got some sleep last night.
It took quite a while to fall asleep...but the guy above me stopped playing his keyboards around 11:20pm, and my roomates were not home...so the house was pretty quiet and I laid in bed trying to relax.
At about 12:30am, I finally took a Melatonin, which helped me sleep.
I woke up this morning feeling a bit rested, which was nice.

After my shower, I could hear Syd (the Idiot roomates sweet, misunderstood, underappreciated cat) crying outside in the hallway. Syd LOVES attention and cries out to be pet quite often, so I thought it nothing serious, however, many times I find her crying because she is Thursty, as her water bowl as well as food bowl is dry...
I found this to be the case. Little Syd was thirsty, water bowl dry. As I told Syd that I would give her more water, and picked up the bowl to fill it, my (Idiot) roomate appeared behind me and said- oh, Syd, screeming again..

Me: "yes, she is thirsty and needs water".

(Idiot) roomate: "she is so Finicky, she won't drink old water, likes it to be new, clean water".

Me: "I think she doesn't care if it's old or new, just likes to have SOME water in her bowl."

(Idiot) roomate.

Along with some good news, comes some bad....
The email I recieved from my sister today:

Hey Boo -
Well Mom's appt did not go as well as we expected. They were not able to do a wound vac as Mom's health insurance had not approved it by then. When the nurse called Anthem to find out what was going on, they claimed they never received the paperwork. The nurse had to refax the paperwork and said she'd follow up later today to make sure they got it. It could be another 1-2 weeks before the approval comes thru. They also said they don't know that it will heal by Christmas for Mom to restart chemo and they can't do chemo until it heals. Part of the problem is that Mom won't eat enough stuff with protein in it. She and I got into it at the clinic about that. She insists that she's eating enough. I told her that all she mostly eats is carbs.
Mom also has lymphedema which is causing the swelling in her arms and face.
Mom just now got a phone call that I listened to about the wound vac and her med ins will only pay $1775 of the $5100 it costs for the vac. They also told her she'd have to put down $500 before they'd even do it. Mom is in tears and I just don't know what to do anymore.
I have to go.
